The Congregation

As a Baptist church WBC is a congregationally based church, with key strategic decisions decided by church members.

Elders

Elected by the congregation the Elders provide spiritual oversight for the church and oversight for overall strategy and direction developed by the ‘Core Leadership Group’ and ‘Ministry Leaders’. As such the church is ‘ministry led’ within a framework of congregational and eldership governance.

Core Leadership Group

The ‘Core Leadership Group’ is effectively the ‘Senior Pastor’. The members of this group are all Associate Pastors & Ministry Leaders in their own right, but are in the Core Leadership Group to offer overall church leadership week-in/week-out. As such they do not represent an individual portfolio, but the interests of the whole church. Trevor acts as overall Team Leader, he is the ‘Captain’ of the team.

Ministry Leaders

Ministry Leaders are those who coordinate a distinct area of ministry in the ongoing life of the church. As such, their role entails the management of a team or teams of people operating under their oversight. There are Ministry Leaders for a number of key areas including Finance, Integration, Youth, Pastoral Care, Seniors, Sunday Children’s Ministry.
